About Jodi

Jodi Cohen travels with an entourage that springs to life in her presentations about leading a “Yes, and...” life. Using a varied, juicy ‘cast of characters,’ Jodi translates how the principles of ‘Improvisational Thinking’ surface and impact our everyday lives, liberating our innate talents and awakening those muscles that allow us to connect, collaborate and generate big ideas. Oh yes, and then there’s the whole fun factor.

Since most of life occurs offstage, Jodi believes that the tools she’s sharpened over her twenty-five years as a professional improviser are not only relevant, but also essential in communicating with each other in all situations, in every relationship, 24/7. Jodi teaches high-impact strategies for transformation that enable you to easily create new ways to think, respond and behave. These simple, profound and user-friendly ideas inspire improved performance, increased productivity and rampant innovation among participants. ‘Aha!’ moments abound when Jodi’s around—she’s a catalyst for adventure, risk-taking and embracing the unknown.

Jodi teaches "Improvisational Thinking" to an increasing number of business and community leaders looking to tap new levels of creativity. She's written, produced and performed several original one-woman shows, including Oy to the World!, Makin’ Mambo, This Just In!, Who Am I Kidding? Taking Up Space, For Immediate Release, Miracles & Laundry and Healing as Quickly as Possible.

She's studied and taught improv for twenty-three years and is Artistic Director of SPIN CYCLE Improv Troupe. As a member of Ark Improv, she performed in Ark Alumni shows with Joan Cusack and Bonnie Hunt. Jodi co-founded and directed Ark Improv’s Animal Crackers Improv Company whose core members included Chris Farley and Brian Stack, a Second City Alumni and currently a writer/performer on Late Night with Conan O’Brien.

Jodi studied English Literature, receiving a B.A. from University of Oregon and later received her B.S. in Secondary Education from University of Wisconsin-Madison. She grew up in Chicago, lived in New York, Oregon, Iowa and currently resides in Wisconsin. For a more detailed look at Jodi’s creative achievements and background, click here.
